Phlebotomy Refresher Training: Innodia's Commitment to Supporting Patient Safety
30 Jun 2026
Phlebotomy, a procedure for drawing blood from a vein (venipuncture), is a crucial step in the laboratory examination process. The accuracy of the blood drawing technique not only affects specimen quality but also plays a significant role in patient safety and the accuracy of test results. Therefore, healthcare workers need to regularly update their knowledge and skills through training to ensure that each procedure is performed according to applicable standards.
As part of its commitment to supporting the improvement of laboratory service quality, PT Innovasi Diagnostika (Innodia) collaborated with Becton Dickinson (BD) to organize Phlebotomy Refresher Training, which will be implemented in stages across Indonesia throughout 2026. This activity aims to improve patient safety while evaluating the process and technical stages of venipuncture blood drawing.

During the training, participants participated in a series of activities designed to refresh their understanding of standard phlebotomy procedures. These included presentations on patient safety principles, evaluations of the technical stages of venipuncture blood collection, reviews of specimen handling processes during the pre-analytic stage, and discussion sessions to address the implementation of procedures in the field. Participants also had the opportunity to share experiences and discuss best practices in phlebotomy services.

This program is being implemented in various regions of Indonesia as part of an effort to strengthen the competency of healthcare workers in implementing safe, consistent, and standardized phlebotomy procedures. Through continuous learning, it is hoped that the quality of laboratory services will continue to improve and the ability to provide more accurate and reliable test results.
As a provider of diagnostic solutions and laboratory equipment, PT Innovasi Diagnostika is committed not only to providing quality technology and products but also to supporting the competency development of healthcare workers through various education, training, and mentoring programs. This collaboration demonstrates Innodia's commitment to supporting the improvement of laboratory service quality and fostering a culture of patient safety in healthcare environments.
This training not only benefits healthcare workers but is also expected to have a positive impact on patients. Phlebotomy performed according to standards helps produce high-quality blood specimens, thus enhancing the accuracy of laboratory test results. This process can be safer, more efficient, and more patient-oriented.

Moving forward, Innodia will remain committed to being a trusted partner for healthcare facilities by providing innovative diagnostic solutions, ongoing education, and collaboration to support the improvement of the quality of laboratory services in Indonesia.
