Biotechnology and stem cells, two inseparable new concepts, are the latest developments in the healthcare world and are currently receiving extensive research. ProSTEM, a pioneering laboratory for the storage, processing, research, and development of clinical applications of stem cells, stem cells, and their derivatives in Indonesia, continuously innovating to create a biotechnology ecosystem, particularly in the development of stem cell research and their derivatives, had the opportunity to share its experiences in addressing national and global challenges.

According to Dr. Cynthia R. Sartika, M.Si., Director of PT. Prodia StemCell Indonesia (ProSTEM), based on the extraordinary regenerative potential of stem cells, ProSTEM, with its mission of delivering life-saving regenerative medicine, is developing stem cell research and clinical applications primarily to treat various degenerative diseases for which effective and efficient treatments have not yet been found.

The potential of stem cells to regenerate damaged or impaired cells holds great promise for more effective treatment and, of course, supports #SustainableHealth in Indonesia. However, it's undeniable that stem cells in Indonesia still face challenges, such as 90% of consumables being imported from abroad, regulations that have yet to be ratified, and the need for qualified human resources, which makes stem cells still difficult to access, especially in terms of price.

However, Dr. Cynthia R. Sartika, M.Si., is optimistic that ProSTEM can overcome these challenges by continuously following updates on scientific and technological developments through various international stem cell congresses, and by actively collaborating with researchers, clinicians, and regulators for the advancement and independence of health in Indonesia.
